Pastelillos de Guayaba



  • 1 sheet Pillsbury Puff Pastry
  • 8 oz guava paste
  • 4 tbsp hot water
  • 1 cup poswedered sugar


  • Pre-heat your oven to 375 degrees
  • In a stand mixer (or handheld mixer) cream the guava paste with the hot water until you for a soft creamy paste
  • Run a dough roller docker, over the puff pastry sheet
  • Cut the puff pastry sheet with a 2" square cutter and place them on a baking sheet that has been lined with baking paper
  • Place in the pre-heated oven and bake for 18-20 minute, or until light and golden in color
  • Let the puff pastry cool before proceeding
  • Cut the puff pastry squares in half and place a tablespoon of guava paste on the center and close together
  • Sprinkles powdered sugar on top of the puff pastry squares


You can substitute the guava paste, with other ingredients such as fruit preserves or even Nutella.
